Workload:
Workload of student for successfully completing the course. Each ECTS credit represents 30 working hours. These are the combined effort of face-to-face time, post-processing the subject of the lecture, exercises and preparation for the exam.

The total workload is distributed on the semester (01.04.-30.09. during the summer term, 01.10.-31.03. during the winter term).
30 class hours (= 22.5 clock hours) over a 15-week period.
The total student study time is 90 hours (equivalent to 3 ECTS credits).
There are therefore 67.5 hours available for class preparation and follow-up work and exam preparation.

Learning outcomes:
Students who successfully complete this module will be able to:
- apply an approach to how to edit a written scientific paper
- adequately organize and structure a scientific paper
- organize the execution of a written elaboration independently
- conduct a literature search on a scientific topic
- articulate themselves logically, factually and rationally in oral form and present their results to an expert audience
- demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of selected topics in computer science / business informatics

Module content:
Current topics and issues from the subject area of business informatics or computer science with reference to business, economics and society (i.e. topics like Machine Learning, Crypto Currencies, Virtual and Augmented Reality etc.)
  
The students receive assistance on the procedure for the preparation of a scientific paper and its written formulation. IT-based tools are also presented for this purpose. Sources for a literature research are presented.
