30 class hours (= 22.5 clock hours) over a 15-week period. The total student study time is 75 hours (equivalent to 2.5 ECTS credits). There are therefore 52.5 hours available for class preparation and follow-up work and exam preparation.

Learning outcomes:
Students acquire knowledge about the requirements of academic writing in the context of Bachelor level studies. Based on the theoretical foundation the students train their writing skills by practical exercises on academic topics.

- Gathering information and assessing sources - Citing, paraphrasing, and referencing other people´s research properly - Understanding the function of the different parts of a scientific paper - Structuring papers, i.e. writing effective introductions, methods, results/discussions and conclusions - Writing clearly and concise - Planning and organizing academic writing, time management - Writing questionnaires and interview guidelines - Self-correction and proof reading - Tips for successful academic paper presentations and writing styles for discussing data, graphs and tables. - Relevant grammar and language structures of academic writing
