Master thesis (Can be repeated semesterly) The Master thesis is a special type of examination. It should show that students are able to work independently on a subject-related question corresponding to their qualification level using scientific methods within a specified period of time.

Workload:
Workload of student for successfully completing the course. Each ECTS credit represents 30 working hours. These are the combined effort of face-to-face time, post-processing the subject of the lecture, exercises and preparation for the exam.

The total workload is distributed on the semester (01.04.-30.09. during the summer term, 01.10.-31.03. during the winter term).
The total student study time for this course is 660 hours.

Learning outcomes:
After successfully completing this module, students will be able to do the following within the given period:
• work on their research approaches in the field of leisure, sports and tourism management using scientific methods,
• independently gather, evaluate and use information in a targeted manner,
• create and independently test their own working hypotheses,
• apply the theoretical, methodological and argumentative skills acquired during their studies,
• analyze complex issues (networked thinking) and describe and evaluate them appropriately using the correct scientific terminology (complexity reduction and pyramid principle),
• develop, present and supply recommendations for action, suggestions for improvement and practicable solutions,
• scientifically substantiate and formulate their research findings in writing and document key results using modern presentation techniques, as well as present them to the group (and third parties, if necessary),

Module content:
The Master thesis is a special type of examination. The Master´s thesis is based on carefully selected study content or main areas of study that must be agreed upon between the student and his/her thesis supervisor. Students have 20 weeks to write their thesis. With regard to content, the thesis should deal with a complex topic from the field of leisure, sports and tourism management.
