Workload:
Workload of student for successfully completing the course. Each ECTS credit represents 30 working hours. These are the combined effort of face-to-face time, post-processing the subject of the lecture, exercises and preparation for the exam.

The total workload is distributed on the semester (01.04.-30.09. during the summer term, 01.10.-31.03. during the winter term).
360 class hours (= 270 clock hours) over a 15-week period.
The total student study time is 360 hours (equivalent to 12 ECTS credits).
There are therefore 90 hours available for class preparation and follow-up work and exam preparation.

Learning outcomes:
During a period of 3 months, students will have worked on a clearly defined task in a goal and result-oriented manner. They will have documented their results in a Bachelor thesis in either German or English and presented and discussed them in a colloquium.
 
The Bachelor thesis is an integral part of a student’s academic education and constitutes
a part of the Bachelor´s examination.

Module content:
The thesis can be carried out in the htw laboratories within the framework of an ongoing project or a new laboratory experiment, at the Institute for Biomedical Engineering, the Saarland University Hospital or as an industrial project. Students will be supervised by a specialist for their respective subject area.
